STORIES • FOLKLORE • MUSIC
Red River Tales is a celebration of our region steeped deep in the traditions of generations. Afternoon activities feature demonstrations by local artists showcasing tobacco twisters, blacksmiths, chandlers, broom makers and more. Our flatbed stage is the perfect area to break for a treat from our food vendors while enjoying clogging, storytelling and musical performances meant to educate and entertain. New this year is our Tall Tale Teller competition open to school aged writers from 12-18 where winners will be featured throughout the afternoon.
If heritage arts is the work boots of Red River Tales, The Bell Witch Opry Revue is the rhinestone adorned suit to bring it up a notch! Directed and arranged by Bel Stuart, our cast and house band will bring original comedy, familiar music and a throwback to live radio program style advertisements to our main stage. With all the heart of the Red River Community and the polish and shine of the variety shows you loved from Nashville, we hope to give you an experience to remember that feels like coming home.
Come join us and enjoy the festival activities for FREE from 3:30 until 6. Then enjoy The Bell Witch Opry Revue in our Kay Bagby Theatre starting at 6:30 pm. Concert tickets are $15 to $20 for pavilion seating and $5 for grass seating. Be sure to grab pavilion or grass seating tickets if you plan on staying for the show.
